Hearthfire: DLC

Hearthfire is an official plug-in for Skyrim. The plug-in had an exclusivity period of one month on the 360, similar to Dawnguard.
With this official add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up - from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and much more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter's workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting and raising children.

Hearthfire Items — New items added by the plug-in, including apparel, books, building materials, weapons, and more.
A house built by the player in Falkreath Hold
Ability to build and customize your own house.
You must purchase the land and use raw materials at a drafting table and carpenter's workbench to create rooms and furniture for your house.
Equip your home with arcane enchanters, armories, forges, gardens, libraries, shrines, stables, taxidermy, and more.
Three plots of land are available for purchase, in Falkreath Hold, Hjaalmarch, and the Pale.
The structure of each house consists of stone, clay, and wood.
Ability to adopt up to two children, who will move into your house.
Interact and play games to raise your new family.
Allow your child to keep a pet after it follows them home. Some creature followers can also be kept as a pet.
If you wish to adopt children without moving into a new home, you may add a child's bedroom to an already purchased home in a major city.
Ability to hire staff:
Turn followers into stewards, who can supply you with housebuilding materials, furnishings, and staff.
A carriage driver who can take you to small settlements as well as major cities.
A personal bard to perform at your home.
New activities, such as baking, beekeeping, farming, and fishing.
Requirement to protect your house from various enemies such as bandits, dragons, giants, skeevers, and more.
Available Houses

All three of the new pieces of property can be purchased for 5000 gold.
Heljarchen Hall — Located in the Pale, this plot of land may be purchased from the Jarl of Dawnstar in the White Hall. You will have to complete the quest Waking Nightmare, and then the favor quest Kill the Giant before being allowed to purchase the property. (Note: This favor has a prerequisite of being level 22.) If you are thane of the hold, you will be appointed a housecarl named Gregor.
Lakeview Manor — Located in Falkreath Hold, this plot of land may be purchased from the steward of Falkreath in the Jarl's Longhouse. You will have to complete the quest Kill the Bandit Leader before being allowed to purchase the property. (Note: If Siddgeir is jarl, this requires completing his version of Rare Gifts first, which cannot be started while another version of the quest is active.) If you are thane of the hold, you will be appointed a housecarl named Rayya.
Windstad Manor — Located in Hjaalmarch, this plot of land may be purchased at Highmoon Hall in Morthal, either from the steward Aslfur if Idgrod Ravencrone is still the jarl, or from the new jarl, Sorli the Builder, if the Stormcloaks have control of the hold. You will have to complete the quest Laid to Rest before being allowed to purchase the property. If you are thane of the hold, you will be appointed a housecarl named Valdimar.

What To Do When You Think You've Run Out Of Things To Do

Let's face it. When you've done every quest, or every quest you WANT to do, life in this game is beige. So here's a bunch of things to do.
• Steal stuff!
Unless you don't want to lead an enticing life of crime, this is for you. Start with simple things like perfecting your signature sneak, or stealing cheese off a platter in a bar.
• Level Up
This gets harder and harder to do as you level up, especially after level 40. But not only do you improve every aspect of the game by doing this, but you can brag to your level 8 friends later.
• Go to GameStop!
This is the place to be for all of Skyrim memorabilia, downloadable content, and advice or cheats. I recommend buying some downloadable content or an expansion for extra things to do.
• Take a Road Trip!
This is easy. Step one: get on your horse. Step two: Ride away! Just ride around until you get to a cave, tower, or bandit camp. Just fight stuff as you go.
• Join the Bard's College
This is fun, and easy. Just go to Solitude and go to the Bard's College. Do some quests, learn the art of being a bard, and meet some people!
• Join A Faction!
Joining the Thieve's Guild, Dark Brotherhood, The Companions, or the Mage's College can improve all your skills. The Thieve's guild and Dark Brotherhood can improve your sneaking and pickpocketing skills. And joining the Companions can improve all your battle skills. The Mage's guild improves magic.
• Kill Someone
This can level up battle skills, gain you weapons and armor and just be fun!!
So now you're equipped for boredom. You're welcome.

Massive Smithing Leveling
You need around 1000 Gold for this. Simply go to any Smith selling Iron Ingots and Leather Strips. The first building on the right as you enter Whiterun is best for this. Purchase as many Iron Ingots as you can and equal Leather Strips. Then go and build as many Iron Daggers as you can. You will increase your Smithing Skill by 1 for every dagger you make. This can mean levelling your skill up by as many as 20 points in under 10 seconds! Then, sell the Daggers to back, and repeat with the money you have remaining. Whilst you aren't going to be able to do this for unlimited times (as the store will run out of Ingots/Strips eventually and you don't gain as much profit from the sell-back, it is a great tactic to very quickly level up your skills.
More Inventory Space
It may be easy to forget/overlook, but increasing your stamina with every level up also increases your weight carrying capacity by 5.

Skyrim's Refresh, Respawn and Restock Durations
As with previous Bethesda games, certain things such as harvested items, stores, containers and enemy spawns, will 'refresh' at certain intervals. Stores will take roughly 2 to 3 days to restock their goods and gold, whilst previously cleared areas of enemies take roughly 3 to 5 days.

Add Mercer
I was tired of Mercer Frey's attitude, so I thought the beginning of the Thieve's Guild quest "Speaking with Silence," would be the perfect time to kill him off. Turns out he's one of those NPC's you can't kill. After whooping him a few times, I ran far away enough that I could fast map out of the area. I went to White Run, and he came with me! Now he's following me everywhere, non-aggro to me and my first follower Belrand, and helping to kill other mobs! So now I have 2 followers although I can't gear him or give instructions. Still, he's a powerhouse with those two blades. It really puts the game on EZ mode, but after logging out and coming back in several times, running some quests, zoning around, and he's still there, I guess I'm stuck with him. I haven't gone to the Flagon to see if he can meet himself. I might have to go do that now...

Unbreakable Lockpick (Skeleton Key)
Submitted by pfc_shadow
During the quest "Darkness Returns," part of the Thieves Guild quests in Riften you'll get a quest item called the Skeleton Key, a lockpick that cant be broken. Instead of finishing the quest you can just keep and use it to open any door or chest without worrying about running out of Lockpicks.

Easy 100 Restoration Skill
Submitted by g-rayted
You need 2 spells for this: Equilibrium and any healing spell (preferably Fast Healing or better). Cast Equilibrium which drains health for magic and keep healing yourself. You will constantly lose health and never run out of magic so you can heal yourself forever.

Easy 100 Speech Skill
Submitted by rbradner
Travel to Riften and go to the Black Brier Meadery. Talk to Ungrien at the front desk and ask him about Maven Black-Brier. He'll say something nice. You now have the option of persuading him, bribing him, or just accepting what he said. The persuade has a Speech check of 25 (must have 25 Speech to get it). If you don't have 25 Speech, try the bribe. It will up your speech rather quickly to 25. Once there, you can use the persuade repeatedly to get to 100 Speech (or however high you want it).
Just keep asking about Maven and persuading. It took me about half an hour tapping the A button while I watched TV to get to 100.

Walk Faster While Over-Encumbered
Submitted by kcrobxer
When you are over-encumbered, you can move faster by equipping a bow and drawing an arrow back.
Combine this with the perk to walk at normal speed with an arrow cocked and you can move about like normal.

My favourite quest

This quest is called 'the taste of death'. Go to the understone keep. When you enter, go to the hall of the dead. It's by Calecemo's enchanting table if you take a left. Talk to the guy standing next to the door. The door will be locked. Tell him you'll help him after you ask him why the hall is closed. He'll say the dead are being eaten. He'll give you his key. Go in and a girl will talk to you. If you want a cool ability, go along with her the whole time. She will tell you to go a cave and clear out the draugr. Do it. The when it's cleared, she'll ask you to coax brother vicitius to the cave. Tell the brother your going on an expedition and that they'll be gold to share. He'll go along with you and the girl will do the rest. When you reach the cave, the girl will coax him into resting. He'll lay down on this weird shrine. When he's asleep, slash him. Eat him. The deidric prince of decay, Namira, will give you her ring. When equipped, it will let you feed on corpses to revive health. A glitch in my game is that when I feed, it says so you want to feed or search. When I say feed, it's not supposed to kt me search but when I feed, then I walk a few feet away. It'll then let me loot the bodies.
